There is a hidden gem just outside of Brighton. Near the Universities, to the North of the city lies Stanmer, a teeny tiny village and a beautiful green space. A little while ago, on a sunny day, we decided to go for a wander.
It may be small, but this picture perfect little spot resembles postcards of the ideal English countryside village. With a church, ponds, parks and Stanmer House (which I’m assured does a lovely afternoon tea), there’s everything you need for a sunny Sunday afternoon out.
The dappled sunlight on an abundance of blossoming hedgerows meant it was nearly impossible to walk without stopping to take a picture every step of the way, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Next time you’re looking for somewhere new to explore in Sussex, I’d recommend taking a little stroll around Stanmer.
