One Pleasant Morning

Now that daylight arrives a little earlier, my mornings feel a lot longer. I’ve written before about how I spend my mornings, including embracing early starts, the simple joy of the quiet of 6am, and even a few tips on starting out right. I’m still very much a morning person, and it now might just be my favourite part of my day. Starting well can set the tone for the rest of the day, so I like to keep my mornings simple and calm.

I like to have enough time in the mornings to actually do something before I need to leave, rather than just to get ready and go. I like to get my brain going by working on some simple creative projects like finishing some editing or a little bit of writing. Starting with some simple work on a project means that I’m awake enough for the challenges that the day may bring, and also have achieved something, no matter how small, before I’ve left the house.

I always like to make a list, often I’ll have one ongoing, but if not will start a fresh one with the things I want to do and achieve by the end of the day.

Mornings are also the perfect time for a little bit of quiet contemplation and forward planning, and a healthy dose of daydreaming over a cup of tea.

I’ve been sharing some pictures over on instagram recently about how I like to spend my morning, take a look and share your own with the hashtag #OnePleasantMorning. How do you like to start your day?

  • I do love it when my body feels like waking up early. Today I woke at 5:30 and couldn’t get back to sleep. I’d decided that once my partner was up and leaving at 7:30 I’d go back to sleep for a bit. But now I am in bed, reading blog posts and leaving comments before I get up properly and continue with my University assignments and it’s actually so lovely doing this instead of going back to sleep and waking up feeling groggy! I see why you like them so much!

Lovely post! I really love those mornings when I have plenty of time. I love making myself a nice breakfast, slowly getting ready and not feeling like I`m in a rush. Actually it`s that kind of morning now and reading posts like yours make mornings so much better and sets the best mood for the day.

  • I’m trying to embrace mornings at the moment. I’m naturally a night owl but I have been enjoying waking up at 8 every morning and just reading some blog posts and sortingn my schedual out. So much better than just rushing out of bed and out the door I completely agree!

That looks like the perfect morning to me. I also love writing down all things I want to achieve during the day in the morning. Lists are so good to calm your nerves and get you going!

  • I’ve always been such a big morning person and love getting some work done early before I leave the house. I too love to sit down with a cup of tea and just start the day writing to do lists or working on editing some photos. I also love catching up on some of my favourite blogger’s posts! Lovely post and loving the new header 🙂 x

  • Always love your photography Carrie. I’ve been an early riser for a couple of years now. I wake between 5:30-6:30am every day and 7:00am is a sleep in for me now. Even on my days off! Ijust like getting everything done and getting a head start to the day 🙂

I never thought I would be a morning person let alone someone that actually enjoys being up before 7am but 2017 seems to have changed me. I am sleeping better and waking up without an alarm before anyone else is awake. It is so relaxing to have that time to ease into the day.
Love your photos as always x

  • I’m also a morning person who enjoys the calmness of morning. Plus, watching the sunrise is beautiful! ♥

  • Today Souhaila

I’ve always been a morning person I love everything about quite mornings and the sunrise….,but lately I’ve been struggling to sleep ..I miss these days hopefully I’ll get rid of these insomnia visits everynight and get back to the early mornings ,lovely post xoo

  • If it’s a work day, I just get up, make a smoothie and go. I love weekends though when I can make a lazy breakfast and decide what I’m going to wear (workdays I put it out the night before!!) xx
