Now that daylight arrives a little earlier, my mornings feel a lot longer. I’ve written before about how I spend my mornings, including embracing early starts, the simple joy of the quiet of 6am, and even a few tips on starting out right. I’m still very much a morning person, and it now might just be my favourite part of my day. Starting well can set the tone for the rest of the day, so I like to keep my mornings simple and calm.
I like to have enough time in the mornings to actually do something before I need to leave, rather than just to get ready and go. I like to get my brain going by working on some simple creative projects like finishing some editing or a little bit of writing. Starting with some simple work on a project means that I’m awake enough for the challenges that the day may bring, and also have achieved something, no matter how small, before I’ve left the house.
I always like to make a list, often I’ll have one ongoing, but if not will start a fresh one with the things I want to do and achieve by the end of the day.
Mornings are also the perfect time for a little bit of quiet contemplation and forward planning, and a healthy dose of daydreaming over a cup of tea.
I’ve been sharing some pictures over on instagram recently about how I like to spend my morning, take a look and share your own with the hashtag #OnePleasantMorning. How do you like to start your day?
