A September Playlist

With the end of September rapidly approaching, I thought I’d share some of the things I’ve been listening to this month before we run out of time! It’s is such a wonderfully seasonal month, we’re right on the cusp of the weather and world changing around us, and just days away from the equinox, bringing along magical changes in light, temperature, air and weather, all of which feels rather magical. I like my daily soundtrack to reflect this, so at this time of year I shelve whatever guilty pleasures may have been floating around my car stereo, and create a more appropriate soundtrack for the time of year. I’m very lucky in that I have a particularly green and leafy commute route, meaning twice a day I get some time to listen as I drive and watch the seasons subtly begin to change.

Most of the tunes are acoustic and are fairly heavy on the twinkly strung guitars which may seem a little cliche to some, but paired with the soft September morning light and the gentle mist rolling in as you drive through the woods, they feel rather appropriate for the season! My current playlist features:

  1. Flaws – Chloe Foy
  2. Cucurucu – Nick Mulvey
  3. Boardwalks – Little May
  4. I Will Remain – Matthew and the Atlas
  5. All is Well – Austin Basham
  6. Riptide – Vance Joy
  7. Stay Gold – First Aid Kit
  8. The Wrote & The Writ – Johnny Flynn
  9. Plans – Dustin Tebbutt
  10. Old Pine – Ben Howard
  11. Flume – Bon Iver
  12. Blue Ridge Mountains – Fleet Foxes
  13. Sleeping Sickness – City and Colour

You can find them all on a Spotify playlist I created here, or by clicking the thumbnail below, if you fancied a listen!

The way you described this list it sounds right up my street! I already love First Aid Kit and Ben Howard, so I’m sure I’ll love the rest of the list too – paired with a hot mug of tea and ALL the candles, of course! xx
