November. How did we get here? November is serious business. November is so nearly December, which is the end of the year. I’m genuinely not sure how that happened.
With October out of the way, Halloween gone and the clocks changed, it’s the month where we start hunkering down for the winter. It’s not quite arctic yet but cold enough to need to plan ahead and bring a coat and scarf. The summer dresses are stored away for warmer days, and wardrobes are filling up with fleece, cable knits and cosy layers. Every day requires socks and a jumper, and an emergency pair of gloves tucked away in your bag, just in case.
Despite the dark evenings and the shrinking daylight hours, it’s the perfect time to get exploring before winter properly arrives. There’s plenty of red and gold still on the trees and a few weeks to go before the hedgerows and forests become barer and darker. Hopefully we’ll have a dry month to make the most of going outside!
What are you looking forward to this November?
