New Things and Nice Things

Today I wanted to share a few favourite bits and pieces that are making me smile at the moment.

First up is a rediscovery of Twinings’ Gingerbread Green Tea. It’s no fine loose leaf, but adds a tasty seasonal twist on green tea, a staple part of my tea drinking routine. Individual bags mean it’s a good one to pop in your handbag and take to work to spice up your tea break. It’s got a great flavour and is making me a little bit excited for Christmas… possibly a little bit early, but it definitely fits with the colder weather we’ve been having!

Next is a sweet gift from my lovely Pa, who managed to track down a supersized Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin hand sanitiser while in the states. It’s my favourite scent from Bath and Body Works and I get through so many of the little pocketbacs at this time of year. It’s such a handy size to keep on your desk, and the packaging is so pretty and seasonal too!

I ordered a few bits from H&M recently and added some candles from their Home section’s sale to my basket to give them a try, and have been so pleased with them. This little Bergamot jar is my favourite, it’s got a good strong fragrance when burning and is in such a pretty jar too!

I’ve added two new additions to my nail polish collection too, both from Essie’s Fall 2016 range. Kimono-Over is a rich, dark bluey purple, a great witchy halloween shade and dark enough to be a great vampy evening polish. Playing Koi might be my new favourite polish ever, the most perfect dark orange that reminds me of crunchy leaves and pumpkins, which is pretty much all I’ve ever wanted in nail polish form!

Last, but not least, is a book I was given on my birthday earlier in the year. It’s from Persephone Books, a publisher and seller that I absolutely adore. The shop ‘reprints neglected fiction and non-fiction by mid-twentieth century (mostly) women writers’, printing them all in beautiful matching grey covers, with each book containing a different printed endpaper and matching bookmark. I love the concept of these similar books, it takes away the ability to judge by the cover, allowing you to discover something new that you might not have otherwise picked up. Opening up the covers reveals a beautiful surprise in the form of the printed pages too, which is just rather lovely if you ask me!

What little things have you been loving lately?

  • That little candle is so cute! Bergamot is one of my favourite fragrances too so I will need to keep my eyes peeled x

  • Oh my, Playing Koi looks amazing. I must check it out myself! I love how deep it is, as opposed to the more bright orange you usually see on sale… perfect for all year too methinks. Your book looks beautiful as well, and those are the kind of books I’d love to fill my shelves with. My Christmas/birthday book last year was an amazing one about The Grand Budapest hotels with illustrations and accompanying text, and I was cleaning up yesterday and just looking at it made it happy haha!

  • I think I want all of these bits! Playing Koi looks like my ideal shade, I must order it! I adore the idea of those books, I might have to look in to it myself! Lately I’ve been loving my Barry M nail polish in Almond and my Elizabeth Arden lipstick in ultra violet! Also, tartan scarves, eep, I’m so pleased that autumn is here! x

  • Those Essie shades are gorgeous! So perfect for Autumn, I’m loving Essie Luxedo at the moment. It has just the right amount of vamp to it! x

  • Your house has got some very beautiful autumnal details! I went to Bath & Body Works just last week, but I ended up leaving with mostly winter-y things 😛 but I’m okay with that too 🙂 -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

  • I really need that sweet cinnamon pumpkin in my life!

  • I absolutely live by the Gingerbread Green tea (and the Caramel Apple one too!) – so yummy for someone who isn’t a fan of Green Tea and smells nice and Christmassy!

That Bath and Body Works sanitiser sounds lush too, so Autumnal! And I’ve never tried the H&M candles but now I’m coming to the end of my Zoella one this might be my next one!!

I rediscovered an old knitted scarf that has like a deep burgundy colour and I absolutely love it. That’s the perfect autumnal piece at the moment. The weather’s still too warm for it but it just feels so cosy that I wear it anyway. Also I just found your blog and I adore your photos and the mood of your posts. Can’t wait to see more!

  • Sweet cinnamon and pumpkin? So season appropriate, I love it.

  • SWEETIE TULIP

I really want them all 😉 <3!!! Also the book seems such a good one!!!
