With the weather changing and the darker nights drawing in, October is the perfect time to crack on with your ‘to-watch’ list and see all of your favourite movies all over again. Halloween is rapidly approaching, so it’s typically a time for horror films, which I must admit I’m not a huge fan of. And by that I mean I absolutely cannot stand them! Autumn isn’t all about the spooky films though, so today I thought I’d share a few of my non-scary favourites.
It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is fairly self explanatory. It’s the 50th anniversary of it’s first showing this year which is pretty special. It’s just a short cartoon, but nothing gets me in the mood for the season quite like it! Hocus Pocus is an October classic and one I love watching every year. A silly spooky tale that sets the scene perfectly for Halloween night! The final three are all Nora Ephron movies, far more general Autumn than Halloween. With beautiful seasonal scenery and storylines that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy, I just can’t make it through October without seeing You’ve Got Mail, Julie & Julia and Sleepless in Seattle!
What are your favourite (non-scary!) movies at this time of year?
