A (4th!) List of Lovely Things

Happy Halloween! I know this is usually a Sunday kind of post, but we can have lovely things on a Monday too. A few things that have been making me smile lately include:

Roast Dinners, and homemade gravy. We’re well and truly into the season of roasts and nothing seems to brighten up a cold and dark weekend like a big old meal! Roasted vegetables, fluffy potatoes and plenty of gravy, it’s the best way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Gilmore Girls. So late to the game on this one but I have well and truly jumped on the bandwagon. I’m just finishing up the first series and am totally hooked. I only wish there were more hours in the day so I could spend a little longer in Stars Hollow.

Halloween Pasta. Because carbs are most definitely the best way to celebrate Halloween. A kind gift from my parents, I now think all pasta should be shaped like bats and pumpkins!

A cosy night in. I officially have no desire to party this Halloween, and can think of nothing better than blankets, hot chocolates, Charlie Brown and Hocus Pocus. Bliss!

What’s made you smile lately?

  • Appreciate the Day

This is definitely the season of roasts. They’re perfect after a cold day. Currently we have halloween pasta made into a salad in our fridge along with brain jellies and chocolate cobwebs ready for a halloween party tonight. Your cosy night in sounds good though, but my flatmates are determined!

  • Loving all of these things!! Roasts on a crisp evening, filling myself with fluffy potatoes and gravy is the best – can’t wait to do that again when I go home in December! OMG Halloween pasta – this looks incredible, where did they get it from?? I am definitely all for a cosy night in and have so much TV to catch up on I haven’t even had a chance to jump on the Gilmore Girls bandwagon – I’m missing out!!

As soon as you mentioned potatoes I ascended to a heaven full of perfect roast potatoes. Favourite part of a roast dinner for me.

(I feel like I’m the only person not watching Gilmore Girls??)
