Things Making Me Smile #4

Hello Sunday, and hello September! We’re entering my favourite time of year, and the first of September arriving feels as though I’m finally allowed to start getting excited. I’m picking up an old post series so that I can share a few more things that have been making me smile. Here’s a little rundown of some lovely things from the past week…

It’s officially candle season! I kicked off my seasonal celebrations by treating myself to a new candle, and I am so in love with the fragrance. I found this one at Homesense where they had absolutely loads to choose from, so it’s worth stopping in for a look!

Are we allowed to start using the ‘P’ word yet? I’m totally ready for everything to smell and taste of pumpkin spice again, starting with my lip balm! I found this one in Walmart on my recent USA adventure, but it would appear they are sadly not available in the UK. However, the famous (or infamous, depending on how you see it!) PSL is back in at Starbucks if you’re a rewards member, with a full store rollout to everyone from this coming week. Pumpkin Spice lovers unite!

September means cosy, and no one does cosy quite like Daisy. I could quite happily take a leaf out of her book and spend my days snoozing on the sofa…

My favourite late summer harvest: it’s apple time! The windfalls are falling and the rest are ripe and ready, so we’d better start prepping those pies and crumbles.

I’ll always be a pumpkin fan, but I definitely won’t say no to Pecan Chocolate Marshmallow Cream coffee. Another Homesense bargain, and one that I’m sure will brighten up my morning cups!

The leaves may not be quite there yet but the seasonal colours are in bloom in my mothers garden. How gorgeous are these reds and yellows?

And last but not least, a pretty puppy pacing her favourite woodland path, because we could all do with spending a little more time outside, especially before the cold weather sets in.

What’s been making you smile this week?

What’s the candle like? I would imagine, with the almond scent, it wouldn’t be too overwhelmingly pumpkin-scented.

  • I love that first photo of the candle; it looks so warm and soft and peaceful! Loving all the autumnal vibes in this photo πŸ™‚ I’m so ready for this season! // Ahh Daisy is so cute in that photo with one eye a little squinty πŸ˜› -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

I love fall! πŸ™‚ I’m so happy it’s almost here, it really is the season of ‘cozy.’ Normally I try and hold off, but yesterday I was in the dollar store and couldn’t resist a pumpkin-spiced hand soap for our bathroom. Win-win πŸ™‚

  • This is such a lovely post ☺️ I’ve been enjoying candles as well and I’m looking forward to some autumnal walks soon – especially when the leaves start changing colour!
