You may have noticed a bit of radio silence around here recently as we’ve been off adventuring! If you follow me on instagram you’ll may have spotted some snaps of our recent adventure to the USA. I’m now home and settling back into our new house and cracking back on with all of the post-moving admin, furniture shopping and organising, and trying to get a good start on the holiday photos. We spent a week in South Carolina, having flown into Atlanta and done a little adventuring further south beforehand.
My (not so anymore) little brother relaxing after the flight. We stayed near the airport for the first night to rest up before a big drive. We were treated to an epic thunderstorm, complete with the hotel being struck by lightning, which made for epic storm watching.
To break the first big drive we stopped at the Museum of Aviation at the Robins Air Force Base in Georgia which is well worth a visit. With military connections in both Loz and my families, it was a fascinating stop! Loz’s grandfather served at the base there and may have even worked on the same planes that my father flew 20 years later, meaning there was some amazing personal nostalgia for us there too amidst the multiple hangars of aviation history.
After the stop we continued the drive down to Florida to visit old friends, making time for a Cracker Barrel stop for pancakes and a bit of route planning.
I took a huge amount of photos over the trip so am spreading them out a little bit to ensure my posts can actually load, so check back tomorrow for part 2!
